Coastcare Grants

We have been successful in receiving two Caring for our Country Community Coastcare grants, announced December 11 2008.

  • $36 000 for our Avalon Golf Course bush regeneration project and
  • $16 000 for McCarrs Creek foreshore restoration: Stage 1 – Bothams’ Beach South.

The money will be spent on contract bush regeneration and community education.

Caring for our Country projects are funded by the Federal Government. Go to http://www.nrm.gov.au/funding/2008/coastcare-successful.html to see details and list of projects funded.

Community support for PEF enabled us to win these grants.

Bothams Beach

Spotted Gums near Bothams Beach, on McCarrs Creek. We have a grant for $XXX to pay for bush regeneration work here, from the Australian Government's Caring for Country fund. Bush regeneration will enable these magnificent trees to produce seedlings by clearing dense weeds below them.

Bungan Beach is backed by dunes and littoral rainforest. Local residents have donated money to pay for regeneration work and been successful in attracting many government grants as well.

The Terraces, Whale Beach Road, north of Whale Beach. Local residents are donating funds for bush regeneration here.
